About the Artist

Michael Sage, a native Torontonian, is a graduate of York University where he obtained an honours B.F.A. He divides his time between Toronto and Hamilton.

In 1989 Michael apprenticed under the master egg-tempra painter, Steven Timmons. Michael has studied the methods and techniques of such great masters of European and American painting including Anthony Van Dyke, Frans Hals, Diego Velazquez, Peter Paul Rubens, and John Singer Sargent.
